Job Summary
Data Engineer I at RELX in Manila supports pre- and post-deployment activities for data pipelines and product integrations, including manual data ingestion. The role assists with maintenance and troubleshooting of diverse data stack tools, provides client-facing technical support for data ingestion and configurations, and collaborates with data engineers, Support, and product teams to ensure smooth deployment and post-deployment operations. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining pipelines built with Matillion and other orchestration frameworks, managing and troubleshooting pre-written scripts (including PHP) that load data into Postgres, troubleshooting data integration issues across internal systems to ensure data accuracy and pipeline stability, documenting standard procedures and recurring issues, and escalating complex challenges to senior team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Familiarity with SQL or similar data transformation tools
- Experience with python
- Experience with data orchestration tools like Matillion, with awareness of other frameworks such as Airflow or Prefect
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-moving, research-informed environment
- Experience in a client-facing role assisting enterprise users
- Familiarity with PHP
- Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives
