Job Summary
Build and operationalize complex data solutions by designing pipelines that contextualize and provide enterprise-wide access to data. Analyze sources to determine value, recommend data cleansing strategies, and incorporate core competencies including data governance, security, and quality. Collaborate across teams to support delivery, educate end users on data products, and perform system analysis to resolve defects and incidents of moderate complexity. Test data movement, transformation code, and components while leveraging AWS and Databricks technologies to support AI, machine learning, and business intelligence initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field or equivalent
- Six years of related experience
- Strong data engineering fundamentals and principles
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines
- Proficiency with AWS: Lambdas, EventBridge, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Athena
- Proficiency with Databricks: Notebooks, Jobs, Unity Catalog, Genie, Autoloader, streaming, and near real-time data processing
- Experience working with AI tools and concepts (e.g., Claude)
- Familiarity with developer productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot
- Comfortability using key engineering and DevOps tools, including Jira, GitHub, Snyk, ServiceNow, and Autosys
- Proficient programming skills and solid understanding of software engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, and version control
- Ability to deliver work at a steady, predictable pace
- Ability to break down complex tasks into small, incremental releases
- Ability to actively participate in trade-off and negotiation discussions
- Demonstrated domain expertise with the ability to quickly understand technical concepts
- Ability to develop deep knowledge of the systems you support
- Proven problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to identify root causes in unfamiliar codebases
- Ability to recognize and resolve recurring issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively collaborate with team members, partners, and stakeholders

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in education and/or work experience
- 2 additional years of software/data engineering experience
