Job Summary
Data Engineer to design and develop an enterprise Contract Performance Analytics platform for a large healthcare system. Focus on data architecture, ELT/ETL pipeline development, and integration of clinical, claims, and operational data into a scalable analytics ecosystem. Build a unified data system enabling insights across value-based care contracts (MSSP, Medicare Advantage, Commercial, and Employer Health Plans). Platform integrates EHR cloud-based processing and an enterprise data warehouse to support analytics and reporting. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines for diverse healthcare data, processing CMS payer files (CCLF, paid claims, PUG), Epic Caboodle/Clarity data models, transforming raw data into analytics-ready canonical models, building lakehouse/medallion architectures, implementing CI/CD for data workflows, collaborating with DBAs/analysts, ensuring data quality, supporting data migration and cloud adoption, troubleshooting, and documenting data flows. Nice-to-have: experience with Epic/Athena, analytics platforms (Exasol or similar), cloud certifications, BI tools, microservices or AI/ML data pipelines, consulting experience. Salary range: $77,000-$129,000.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship or Green Card
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields
- Minimum of FIVE (5) years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or data platform engineering in a healthcare setting
- Experience with healthcare data (claims, clinical, payer, population health)
- Experience with FHIR and HL7
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue
- Experience with lakehouse/medallion architectures
- Knowledge of relational databases, data warehouses/lakes
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
- Experience with CI/CD and version control
- Experience handling PHI and healthcare data privacy/security
- Ability to work in Agile environments
