Job Summary
Data Engineer at Booz Allen: build and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that organize structured and unstructured data from disparate sources; design and implement data warehouse/lake architectures, RESTful APIs, and event-processing workflows; work with a multi-disciplinary team to enable analytics for mission-driven projects, leveraging AWS/Azure cloud data products, data governance and security practices (NIST 800.53, FISMA); contribute to data discovery, cataloging, and lifecycle management while collaborating on AI/ML pipelines and security models; role involves hands-on development in Python/SQL/Scala/Spark/Java, and complying with TS/SCI clearance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing data warehouse or data lake, RESTful API models, event processing, or business intelligence for software systems
- 5+ years of experience building scalable data pipelines, automating large-scale batch and streaming data workflows, and parsing structured, unstructured, or event-streaming data
- Experience with coding in SQL, Python, Scala, Spark, or Java
- Experience performing tuning on data lake architecture to optimize cloud storage and pipeline performance
- Experience with data management solutions addressing data catalog, data usage, governance policies, and lifecycle management
- Bachelor’s degree
- Clearance: TS/SCI clearance required
