Job Summary
Code BigQuery procedures, functions, and database objects while implementing scalable data models within the data lake. Manage storage, partitioning, and clustering strategies to optimize performance and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives and data governance guidelines. Develop documentation, ensure data integrity through validation mechanisms, and identify improvements across the full data lifecycle from ingestion to reporting. This role resides within the AI Engineering – Reporting and Analytics team, supporting global insurance teams with large-scale datasets. Candidates must reside in Canadian provinces including Ontario, BC, and Alberta.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in modeling, building, and maintaining data solutions in cloud-based environments
- Proficiency in SQL and Python to manipulate, store, manage, or retrieve data assets
- Proven impact with BigQuery and cloud-based data warehousing solutions
- Experience managing and optimizing BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform data services
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks, ideally Scrum, and tools like Jira and Confluence
- Bachelor-level degree in Computer Science, MIS, or CIS, or equivalent experience
- Reside and work from one of the following provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, PEI, Saskatchewan
