Job Summary
Data Engineer at Datashift Netherlands, responsible for building and owning data integrations in Python using Databricks, Azure Function Apps, and other Azure services; ensure APIs are production-ready with performance, security, access control, observability, and cost considerations; migrate legacy data APIs to current architectural standards with structured logging and alerting; own the CI/CD setup in Azure DevOps to automate testing and deployment; collaborate with Data Engineering & Platform teams and engineers across countries to ship and document end-to-end integrations; support data engineering tasks as needed. Requirements include 3+ years Python experience shipping APIs, real dbt experience with SQL, API design and CI/CD, Azure Function Apps, Key Vault, VNets, private endpoints, NSGs, and secure API exposure; comfortable in Agile; interest in Databricks Lakebase and Databricks Apps; location in the Netherlands with hybrid remote option.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of Python experience and a track record of shipping APIs and backend services
- Clean, testable code is your default
- Real dbt experience and SQL
- Experience with API design, CI/CD pipelines, and testing; keeping production systems observable and stable
- Azure familiarity with Function Apps, Key Vault, VNets, private endpoints, NSGs, and secure API exposure in production
- Comfortable in an Agile setup
- Interest in Databricks Lakebase and Databricks Apps
