Job Summary
Senior Big Data Platform Engineer at Capco (a Wipro company) responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing the bank’s big data platforms and data processing pipelines to ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security. Provides technical leadership for data platform operations, supports analytics and regulatory workloads, and ensures data platforms operate reliably in a regulated Virtual Bank environment. Design, operate, and maintain data platforms supporting banking, analytics, and reporting workloads; ensure availability and capacity planning of data platforms and pipelines; implement and maintain data ingestion, processing, and streaming; support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery; implement monitoring, logging, and alerting; enforce data security controls and access management; lead incident response and root cause analysis; collaborate with Application, Cloud, DBA, and Security teams; mentor junior engineers; support audits and regulatory reporting; drive continuous improvement for platform reliability and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field
- Minimum5–7 years of experience in big data platform engineering or data operations
- Strong hands-on experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, data lakes)
- Experience operating data platforms in production environments
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP is a plus)
- Good understanding of data security, access control, and operational controls
- Experience supporting 24x7 production systems or regulated environments is preferred
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills
- Good command of English (reading, writing, and speaking)
