Job Summary

Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Kafka, and related technologies to extract, cleanse, and load claims and eligibility data. Investigate and resolve pipeline issues by triaging bugs, troubleshooting failures, and collaborating to restore accuracy. Implement data transformations, configure new logic, and deliver ad-hoc reports for client-specific requirements. Document unfamiliar data sources, integrate them into existing frameworks, and enforce quality checks to maintain consistency. Monitor production pipeline performance to address degradation before it affects clients. Participate in sprint delivery ceremonies, estimating stories and defining implementation details. This role sits at the center of the TPA DataOps team, turning raw data into reliable integrations that drive healthcare analytics and client trust.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering
  • Degree or certification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • Expert-level SQL including pivots, window functions, and complex date calculations
  • Expert-level analysis and parsing of flat file data structures
  • Proficiency in EDI X12 formats related to healthcare claims processing
  • Solid understanding of relational and non-relational data models and their differences
  • Familiarity with API usage for healthcare data integration including data parsing and conversion
  • Familiarity with EFT file movement principles and encryption tooling
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with analytical tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, or Power BI

Desired Qualifications

  • ETL experience preferred
  • Git experience preferred
