Job Summary
Senior Data Engineer for the Data Hub Sales at DKV Mobility. Build and scale cloud-based data products powering Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service from pipeline to production in an Azure environment. Design relational and dimensional models, own end-to-end data lakehouse architecture with Terraform IaC, and optimize data pipelines for performance, quality, and cost. Collaborate with the central Data Intelligence & Analytics team, lead cross-functional projects, promote data quality, and advise stakeholders on adopting the new Azure-based Data & Analytics framework. Based in Ratingen with hybrid work options (up to 40% remote from anywhere in Germany). Requires degree in CS or related field and 6+ years in data/BI engineering; proficient in Python and SQL; experience with data lakehouse architectures; Terraform; strong German and English communication; autonomous, proactive, and able to share knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification
- 6+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or BI Engineer
- Deep expertise in Python and SQL
- Experience designing, building, and operating modern data lakehouse architectures
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communicator in German and English
- Autonomy and end-to-end ownership mindset
