Job Summary
Data Engineer - Customer Experience responsible for designing, developing, and refining performance metrics and advisor service metrics for OnStar IVA projects, building and maintaining dashboards and recurring reports to visualize advisor service usage and system availability across OnStar services (Turn-By-Turn, Remote Unlocks). Utilize Databricks, SQL, and Power BI to analyze backend data sources, collaborate with IT/operations to align with SLAs, document system workflows, investigate end-to-end performance issues, and implement automation to facilitate analysis. Hybrid work policy requires 3 days in-office and 2 days remote with ability to report to a local office; role involves understanding and documenting system interactions, improving performance, and delivering actionable insights.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study
- Three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Data Developer, or related role
- Three (3) years of experience with relational database structures and SQL query development
- Experience with Power BI and Tableau reporting systems
- Experience with Big Data including Hadoop and Teradata, Python, PySpark, ELK, Maxis, HUE, and basic knowledge about APIs
- Database skills and significant SQL query development experience
- Problem solving techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 900X, and SPICE
- Understanding of application architecture and design principles related to system integration of client components, web services, and databases
