Job Summary
Design and architect modern data platforms using concepts like Data Mesh, Lakehouse, and Data Fabric. Implement sophisticated data integration patterns including ETL, CDC, and CEP while ensuring data quality and governance through Data Contracts. Develop robust data models and integration processes, transform information into interactive dashboards, and utilize advanced analytics techniques to derive insights. Contribute to internal R&D initiatives that explore new technologies and methodologies to improve data platform solutions. Participate in tech meetings to share knowledge and foster continuous learning within the team.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in Data engineering
- Advanced Data Integration: You are eager to utilize sophisticated data integration patterns, such as ETL, CEP, CDC, etc.
- Modernized Enterprise Data platforms: You are passionate about crafting and architecting Data platforms using concepts like Data Mesh, Data as a Product, Lakehouse, Data fabric, Data Lake, etc., using a Platform Engineering approach
- Data Anonymization: You have always wanted to play a crucial role in ensuring the privacy and security of sensitive information within our data ecosystems
- Data Quality and Governance: You are willing to work with projects, technologies, and tools dedicated to Data Quality Management and Governance using Data Contracts
- Cloud Technologies: You are experienced with or interested in exploring cloud-based and hybrid-cloud solutions to enhance our data product services
- Data Visualization: You are passionate about transforming information into engaging, interactive dashboards that facilitate decision-making
- Modern Analytics: You are enthusiastic about utilizing advanced analytics techniques, including predictive analysis and data mining, to derive insights from diverse data environments
- Data Modelling and Integration: You want to sustainably develop innovative data models (Data at Rest) and robust integration processes (Data in Motion)
- Analytical and Agile Approach: You possess a thorough and curious mindset, framing critical questions to comprehend tasks from both business and technical perspectives
- Strong Analytical Abilities: You possess a deep understanding of data analysis and statistical methods
- Proficient in Programming Languages: You are skilled in SQL, Python, or Java
- Experience with Data Tools: You have hands-on experience with at least one of the data integration tools like DataStage, Informatica, Talend, Apache Nifi, Spark
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing: You are familiar with data warehousing concepts and tools like Snowflake and building and understanding dimensional modeling
- Expertise in Business Intelligence: You can efficiently use BI tools such as Cognos, Power BI
- Understanding of Data Governance: You know data governance frameworks and practices
- Cloud Proficiency: You have experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Excellent Communication Skills: You can convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Project Management: You have experience managing or working within Agile project management frameworks
Desired Qualifications
- Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data Engineer, or similar
- Experience with Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, or other big data technologies
- Machine Learning Knowledge: Basic understanding or hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and tools
- Planning Analytics: Experience with planning analytics tools such as IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), or similar platforms for financial and operational planning
- DevOps Skills: Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines
- Security Awareness: Understanding of data security principles and practices, including GDPR compliance
- Open-Source Contributions: Contributions to open-source data projects or active participation in data communities
- Foreign Language Skills: Proficiency in additional languages (German), especially relevant to our international projects in the DACH region
