Job Summary
Data Engineer (mid-level) responsible for designing and optimizing databases, writing SQL and T-SQL stored procedures, troubleshooting issues, and tuning performance. Collaborate with Software Engineers and Data Scientists to improve data flow from collection to reporting, gather and implement stakeholder requirements, and monitor databases to prevent failures. Proficiency in SQL Server, database design and internals, ETL/ELT pipelines, and experience with BI tooling; familiarity with Python or C# is a plus. The role requires in-office work at the St. Peters, MO headquarters five days a week, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and continued learning.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work in-office in St. Peters, MO, 5 days a week (this position is fully on-site)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience as a SQL Server Data Engineer
- Deep understanding of SQL, database design, normalization
- Good understanding of Database Engine internals such as buffer pool, parallelism, execution plans, indexing
- 2+ years of experience creating, managing and monitoring data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Positive attitude, with a strong desire to learn and excel
- Experience with C# or Python preferred
- 2+ years of experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools preferred
