Job Summary
Data Engineer - AVP role focused on building production-grade data infrastructure and data products on Snowflake to support Research Analysts and Barclays clients. Responsible for developing and maintaining Snowflake data stack and broader data pipelines, integrating data products for research analysis, ensuring data quality and observability through monitoring/logging/alerts, productionizing models and analyses for deployment, and collaborating with analysts, compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure compliant delivery of research. Lead or guide teams on complex data tasks, drive CI/CD practices for data pipelines, manage dependencies, and communicate solutions to stakeholders. Requires strong skills in Snowflake, SQL, Python, data pipelining, AWS (Athena/S3), BI tools (Tableau/Power BI), and experience with big data tooling (Spark/Presto) and orchestration tools (Dagster/Prefect). Must demonstrate leadership behaviors, collaboration, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in Snowflake
- Strong experience in SQL
- Strong experience in Python
- Strong understanding of data pipelining and automation for data extraction and code change management
- Experience with CI/CD for data platforms and environment promotion
- Experience in data visualization and data analytics using Tableau/PowerBI (or similar BI tool)
- Knowledge on working with Big Data sets on AWS using Presto/Spark/Athena
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with ETL
- Experience with data infrastructure and production-grade data products
- Experience coordinating with stakeholders and delivering data-driven solutions
