Job Summary
Design and deliver production-grade Google Cloud data pipelines, BigQuery models, and feature engineering for demand forecasting, inventory allocation, promotion planning, and marketing attribution. Develop, train, and deploy ML models using Vertex AI while integrating AI/ML solutions with enterprise systems via APIs and event-driven integrations. Implement data-quality controls, automated testing, and observability to monitor model performance, drift, and costs. Conduct A/B testing and backtesting to validate production AI systems, then continuously improve them with retry mechanisms and operational runbooks. Translate complex commercial problems into scalable AI solutions that influence retail decisions across stores, ecommerce, and supply chain.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience across data engineering, AI/ML engineering, software engineering or a related discipline
- 3+ years delivering production data, analytics or AI/ML solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Advanced BigQuery, SQL and Python skills
- Hands-on experience with Vertex AI
- Strong ETL/ELT and cloud data-pipeline experience
- Experience with data modelling and feature engineering
- Experience training, evaluating and deploying ML models
- Strong knowledge of forecasting/time-series modelling and predictive analytics
- Experience with recommendation systems, clustering and/or optimisation
- Experience integrating AI/ML solutions with enterprise applications
- Strong REST API and event-driven integration knowledge
- Experience with Google Cloud Logging, Monitoring and Observability
- Experience with automated testing, data validation and experimentation
- Experience supporting and monitoring production AI systems
- Understanding of IAM, data security and cloud governance
- Strong architecture and technical documentation skills
- Agile, Scrum or hybrid delivery experience
- A relevant bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
