Job Summary
Data Engineer 2 on JLL Technologies’ Capital Markets Data Engineering team. Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake; build and govern data solutions that feed data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms with multi-cloud support (Azure, GCP, AWS). Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements, ingest data from market data vendors and trading systems, and ensure data quality and reliability. Create automated tests, document data infrastructure and ETL processes, and monitor pipeline health. Location is Remote with Madrid, Spain as a remote-enabled site. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3–5 years of data engineering experience, with strong Python/SQL/PySpark, Databricks, SQL queries, data warehousing concepts, and cloud experience; familiarity with governance, security, and testing across data pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or full-stack development, with a focus on cloud-based environments
- Strong expertise in Python, SQL, PySpark, Spark
- Strong Databricks experience
- Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and workflow automation
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and cloud-based platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake)
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure
- Experience in DevOps model and testing (Unit, Functional, Integration, UAT, System, Security)
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions
- Knowledge of data governance, data modeling, and data quality practices
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, dynamic environments
