Job Summary
Data Centre Service Delivery Field Support Engineer (L1) is an entry-level engineering role providing professional first-line onsite technical support and field engineering to clients. Responsibilities include proactively identifying and resolving incidents to restore service, managing incidents to meet SLA targets, logging and updating progress, liaising with client IT environments, carriers and colleagues to expedite diagnosis, investigating first-line calls to determine root causes, escalating to L2 when needed, and performing routine configuration, installation, testing and operation of infrastructure and software per client requirements. The role requires effective communication, teamwork, the ability to plan activities, adapt to changing circumstances, and a focus on delivering a positive client experience while following standard practices and handover procedures for shift continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Computing or related field
- Associate level certification in different Data Centre technologies such as Cisco, NetApp, EMC- Ex: CCNA (DC)
- Required experience: Entry level experience in building, deploying and supporting data center networking infrastructure
- Associate level knowledge of data center network equipment like Nexus and MDS series switching
