Job Summary
The Data Center Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers and network equipment in regional data centers. This hands-on role ensures high availability and reliable performance of critical systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a data center, server room, or similar IT infrastructure environment
- Solid understanding of server hardware, basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and OS fundamentals (Windows or Linux)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends/holidays, and participate in on-call rotation; occasional travel between sites
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Dell/HP/Cisco servers
- Experience with SAN/NAS storage
- Familiarity with ticketing and monitoring tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA, Nagios, SolarWinds)
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+/Server+ or CCNA
