Job Summary
Data Center Technician role spanning Level 1 through Level 4 with a focus on integration within ISP/Central Office/Headend/Data Center environments. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality infrastructure installations, on-site support, safety adherence, and collaboration with senior technicians. Skill progression covers installation of cabinets/racks, cable management, CAT5/6 and fiber cabling, DC power installation, testing, and supporting migrations and cutovers. Travel up to 25-85% may be required; role supports growth from Level 1 to Level 4 with increasing leadership responsibilities and documentation integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Able to lift up to 80 lbs
- W-2 employment with benefits
- Experience in digital infrastructure/network facility support
- Proficient in cabinet/rack installation and cable management
- CAT5/6 and fiber cabling installation and testing
- Knowledge of DC power installation and grounding
- Ability to read and follow MOPs and documentation
- Ability to work independently or with supervision as needed
- Ability to work night shifts and travel 25-85% as required
- Experience with GR-1275-CORE standards
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to participate in migrations and cutovers and support off-hours work
