Job Summary
Data Center Technician for a contract/freelance engagement on-site in Swinton and Salford, GB. Responsibilities include hardware installations, decommissions, migrations, structured cabling (copper and fiber), server racking/stacking/labeling, cross-connects and patch panel work, troubleshooting, documenting work with photos and notes, and coordinating with remote NOC and client teams. Relevant certifications such as CDCP/CDCS and CCNA/CompTIA Network+ are preferred; familiarity with DCIM and ticketing systems and experience with major colocation providers are also preferred. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in raised-floor environments, with strong English communication and own transportation.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience
- Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber)
- Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in raised floor environments
- Own transportation and ability to work on-site
- Professional communication skills in English
