Job Summary
Data Center Repair Technician responsible for physical repair and maintenance of data center hardware (servers, switches, routers, network cards, power supplies, fans) across multiple local sites. Duties include hands-on repairs, component lifecycle management from installation to decommissioning, routine maintenance inspections, inventory management of spare parts, coordinating with technical teams to minimize downtime, documenting repairs and updating system configurations, basic physical layer troubleshooting (cable and port testing), supporting new hardware installations, and participating in emergency response for hardware issues. Requires technical diploma or certification in electronics or computer hardware, proven data center hardware repair experience, familiarity with Cisco/Juniper/Arista hardware and x86 servers, strong organization and problem-solving skills, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds (potentially up to 100 pounds) with valid driver’s license. Shift rotations support 24/7/365 operations and local travel to multiple sites; on-site work in Montgomery, AL.”,
Required Qualifications
- Technical diploma or certification in electronics, computer hardware, or a related field
- Proven track record of repairing and maintaining IT and network hardware in a data center environment
- Familiarity with hardware from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and x86 servers
- Valid driver’s license and ability to handle physical requirements (lifting up to 50 pounds)
