Job Summary
Data Center Technician in Allen, TX, on-site, full-time role within Voltage Park's HPC data center environment. You will maintain hardware, diagnose and resolve system, compute, and network issues, ensure proper racking and cabling of new infrastructure, document installation standards, and collaborate with HW Support and RMA teams to ensure deployments run smoothly. The role requires Linux proficiency, experience with networking appliances (Ethernet and InfiniBand), attention to detail, proactive monitoring, and the ability to operate in a 24/7 environment with on-call responsibilities. Nice-to-have experience in HPC environments and with Dell or Nvidia equipment.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in data centers and technically proficient about critical infrastructure systems supporting data centers (power distribution, air flow management, environmental monitoring, capacity planning, DCIM software, structured cabling, cable management)
- Strong Linux administration experience
- Experience setting up networking appliances (Ethernet and InfiniBand)
- Attention to detail: precision in debugging work (such as cabling, patching, or configuring equipment)
- Resourceful problem-solver: able to figure out solutions under constraints
- Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with on-call rotation and after-hours support
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues
- Strong analytical and communication skills: collaborate with network engineers, SREs, on-site remote hands, and operations team to resolve issues and ensure smooth deployments
