Job Summary
Data Center Technician III provides proactive end-user support via phone, email, and in-person interactions, handles trouble tickets and remote hands requests from start to finish, and oversees installation of circuits (Ethernet, Sonet, Dark Fiber). Maintains security and BMS systems monitoring, ensures timely ticket resolution, coordinates vendor maintenance, conducts facility security walkthroughs, records labor and metering data for invoicing, participates in on-call rotation, and upholds DataBank cabling standards while maintaining site readiness and orderly operations. Requires experience in data-center environments, strong customer-service skills, and ability to learn and apply processes quickly.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 3-5 years of data center/NOC/SOC/IOC experience or demonstrated ability
- Reliable transportation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems (pc and server)
- Familiarity with Ethernet and fiber circuits is a plus
- Ability to install and manage copper, coaxial, CAT5/6, fiber and related connectors
