Job Summary
Design, test, and administer systems for the Supercomputing-as-a-Service business by preparing, staging, and executing system startups and shutdowns. Perform onsite maintenance and troubleshooting for supercomputer infrastructure, including hardware break-fix swaps, warranty service coordination, and upgrades. Execute diagnostics, triage system issues, and escalate problems as needed while adhering to security protocols defined by the security architect. Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers to ensure continuous operational availability. This onsite role is based in Lévis, QC, with weekend and off-hours on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting IT equipment (Servers, Switchers ...)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working on or supporting enterprise grade server infrastructures
- Hands-on experience with the tools and infrastructure to support HPC systems at scale including networking and storage
- Proficient in the use and operation of Linux-based environments including shells, system configuration and administrative skills
- Prior experience with large-scale clustered systems (preferably HPC experience with parallel compute systems)
- Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC)
- An understanding of high-speed networks
- An understanding of the security concerns in a cloud environment
- Experience with common data center hardware including CPUs, GPUs, management, and network equipment
- An understanding of high-performance computing
- BS in Computer Science, IT Management, or equivalent
- This role has been designed as 'Onsite' with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office
- There will be weekend/off-hours on-call rotation for this position
