Job Summary
Data Center Technician (L2/L3) oversees installation teams performing fiber optic and network infrastructure in mission-critical data centers. Responsible for executing installation services to contractual requirements, guiding field operations, ensuring adherence to technical, quality, and safety standards, and mentoring L1 trainees. Responsibilities include independent execution of installation tasks, developing work plans with guidance from leads, troubleshooting complex fiber optic/TP systems (signal loss, interface errors), supporting QA/QC processes, operating in live environments, and traveling as needed. Training and mentoring for L1 technicians are included; shift is 8:00 pm–8:00 am with overtime, and per diem and hotel accommodations are available.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of documented industry experience
- Fiber optic testing certifications on OTDR and OLTS
- Required fiber splicing certification
- Experience in live, operational, data center environments
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Possession of all relevant certifications required for the role
