Job Summary
The Data Center Subject Matter Expert (Power) will manage projects and operational activities to ensure 100% uptime while serving as an in-house expert for power systems. Responsibilities include ensuring safe and efficient delivery of planned maintenance, managing testing of mission-critical power equipment, responding to alarms and emergencies, collaborating with internal teams, and monitoring multiple sites for compliance. Required skills include strong technical knowledge of data center power systems and effective leadership ability. Candidates should have a relevant technical qualification, extensive experience in critical environments, and specific electrical certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualification at NFQ Level 6–8 (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Facilities Management) or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience supporting critical facilities, data centers, or comparable mission-critical environments
- Electrical Authorised Person / Competent Person certification in accordance with Irish or UK standards (e.g., Safe Electric, HV/LV Authorisation, or equivalent)
- Formal mechanical and/or electrical training, with a strong focus on power systems
- Health & Safety training appropriate for supervisory roles (e.g., Safe Pass, IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent; OSHA30 accepted where applicable)
- Demonstrated experience operating within live data center or other critical infrastructure environments
