Job Summary
Data Center Solution Architect at GE Vernova focused on hyperscaler AI training/inference and colocation power architectures, including 800V DC architectures. You will serve as the primary customer-facing technical authority for AI training campuses and hyperscale DC opportunities, develop and own Campus Power Reference Architectures, design single-line diagrams and power systems for data center archetypes, lead technical discovery with hyperscaler DC engineering teams, author technical proposals and power system studies (load flow, fault analysis, arc-flash), collaborate with NPI/PM to validate product designs, conduct internal training on Data Center power architecture, represent GE Vernova in standards bodies (OCP, Nvidia, others), build a library of case studies and reference designs, and guide roadmap, optimizations, and TCO planning. Travel up to 30% within North America and Europe is required, with preference for candidates based in major US data center markets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
- 10+ years of relevant data center power train architect experience at hyperscaler, colocation, or top-tier OEM supplier with extensive hyperscale experience
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time including local and international
- Personally designed, peer-reviewed, and/or operated/maintained electrical systems for at least one hyperscale AI training (>=500MW) campus
- Experience with AC/DC (esp 800VDC) power train and distribution architecture
- MV/LV switchgear and distribution architectures and equipment
- MV/LV UPS, solid-state transformers
- Battery Energy Storage Systems
- Source/load Power Quality issues and resolutions
- System TCO/design tradeoffs
- Awareness of Open Compute Project, Nvidia/AMD, IEEE, NEMA, UL/IEC, ASHRAE, Uptime/TIA standards
