Job Summary
Conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior areas, control access and egress, and monitor closed caption televisions and alarm systems. Answer and respond to events received via person, phone, or radio, while accurately documenting routine and unusual incidents through shift reports and logs. Mitigate unwanted intruders, ensure visitors are escorted, and assign badge access with approved compliance codes. Provide security support during inclement weather or infrastructure interruptions, and efficiently handle emergency situations by directing clients and dispatching appropriate teams.
Required Qualifications
- 1 years Security Experience
- driver license
- walk and stand for long periods of time
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license
- Possess, or be able to obtain, the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Minimum of two (2) years of physical security experience within the last five (5) years
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency
- proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English language fluently
- Proficiently skilled in the use of technology such as a desktop computer and mobile applications to document activities and tasks
- Ability to prioritize workload based on urgency
- Ability to quickly and efficiently analyze high stress situations to determine the proper communication of events and to dispatch the proper teams to determine the best course of action to take
Desired Qualifications
- Active Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) registration
- Military or law enforcement experience
