Job Summary
Data Center Project Manager needed to lead full lifecycle fixed-bid infrastructure deployments for a telecommunications client. Senior-level responsibilities include initiating and planning with charters and detailed schedules (Gantt/CPM), coordinating cross-functional field teams (installers, splicers, technicians), ensuring quality and safety, and maintaining documentation and dashboards. You will validate deliverables with OTDRs and certification tools, perform root-cause analysis, manage procurement and logistics, deliver regular status and financial reporting, and drive risk management, change control, and closeout activities. Requires 5+ years in data center/critical facility projects, an associate degree (technical field) or equivalent experience, and strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optic systems, and applicable standards (BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC). Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera, the ability to read blueprints and financial data, and excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills are essential. Domestic travel may be required; onsite data center work with potential hybrid after initial phase; PMP/CAPM preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project management within data center, telecommunications, or critical facility environments
- Proven experience managing full lifecycle infrastructure or construction projects
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent experience strongly considered
- PMP or CAPM certification strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optic systems (ISP/OSP), and low-voltage infrastructure
- Familiarity with industry standards, including TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NEC
- Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and financial data
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Leadership competencies including leading cross-functional teams and mentoring field personnel
- Experience applying structured PM methodologies and leadership frameworks
- Ability to travel as required by project needs
- Ability to work onsite at active construction and data center environments
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
