Job Summary
Data Center Operations Engineer II to support production data center environments, including hands-on deployment, maintenance, and support of server hardware and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include deploying (rack and cable) new server hardware, performing hardware break/fix (drives, RAM, CPUs, power supplies, and other components), troubleshooting to maintain production uptime, maintaining asset inventory and lifecycle records, coordinating hardware RMAs, assisting in documenting and refining operational processes, coordinating hardware orders with Procurement, supporting structured cabling to meet standards, executing change activities in live production environments per change management procedures, and providing on-site support to Systems and Network Engineering during deployments and maintenance windows. Requires 2+ years in a production data center, hands-on hardware deployment experience, knowledge of asset management and vendor RMAs, change management awareness, strong organization, and ability to travel up to 30%. Also notes access to a comprehensive benefits package and a base pay range of $117,500—$176,300 USD.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working in a production data center environment
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting server hardware
- Experience replacing hardware components such as drives, RAM, CPUs, motherboards, and power supplies
- Familiarity with asset management tracking and reporting
- Understanding of vendor RMA processes
- Strong understanding of data center operational best practices
- Working knowledge of change management principles in online production environments
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively
- Comfortable working in hands-on environments, including lifting and racking equipment up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Valid driver’s license required
- Up to 30% travel required
