Data Center Operating Engineer

Job Summary
Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on all critical building systems including fire/life safety, HVAC, electrical (UPS, generators, switch gear), and mechanical equipment. Diagnose malfunctions in pumps, valves, piping, and refrigeration units, then execute corrective actions such as installing wiring, rebuilding motors, and replacing seals. Conduct routine rounds, record operational readings, and ensure strict adherence to the Critical Facility Work Authorization process for contractors. Comply with safety protocols for hazardous materials and emergency escalation procedures while overseeing contractor activities within the data center.
Required Qualifications
- hands-on experience in a data center/critical facility, including UPS Systems, emergency generators, and switch-gear
- Universal EPA 608 Certification (or within 90 days of employment)
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
- Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills
- Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
