Job Summary
Apprentice role providing HVAC mechanical equipment and controls service on client sites; training through Service Technical Academy to build skills in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues and customer needs; participate in coaching/mentorship; meet attendance requirements for union training; provide recommendations and quotes; requires willingness to join United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry AFL-CIO; 1+ years of industry experience; strong interpersonal skills; leadership to support mechanics; self-starter; valid driver's license; preferred 1-2 years of trade school or college.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO
- 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry
- Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner
- Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site
- Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently
- Prioritize safety in all forms
- Valid driver's license
- Preferred 1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis
