Job Summary
Data Center Infrastructure Architect at CABLExpress. You’ll act as both strategist and technical leader, guiding customers through complex decisions, shaping solutions at Layer 1, and influencing outcomes across the sales journey. Responsibilities include delivering expert pre- and post-sales technical support (design assistance, addressing technical queries, crafting tailored solutions, supporting quotes and proposals), engaging with prospects and customers to advise and elevate the customer experience, collaborating with the sales team to ensure CABLExpress products are the preferred choice, leading customer-facing meetings and presentations, developing strong customer relationships, supporting installation and issue resolution for repeat business, leading customer requirement conversations as the technical SME; developing architectural designs and specifications per TIA942, monitoring market activities and providing feedback to Product Management, participating in trade shows and standards body meetings, and traveling as needed. Requirements include 7+ years in structured cabling/SAN/network infrastructure technical sales, a Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science or related field, deep knowledge of data center optical cabling and transmission topologies, RCDD or DCDC certification preferred, proficiency with Microsoft Visio (design per TIA942) and AutoCAD or similar, MS Office proficiency, strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, ability to work in a high-pressure environment, and alignment with company values.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in structured cabling, data center storage area networking (SAN), or network infrastructure technical sales
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio to support design according to TIA942 standards; knowledge of AutoCAD or other engineering applications a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, while demonstrating strong attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines
- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; be a process-oriented thinker
- Exhibit strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and written
- Must be able to adapt to a high-pressure, continuously changing environment
