Job Summary
Data Center Facilities Operations Director to manage overall quality and service of the operation and maintenance of critical facility infrastructure for a 7x24x365 data center. Lead in-house facilities teams, coordinate with the Chief Engineer, and oversee third-party vendors to meet high and dynamic customer standards. Responsibilities include site walk-throughs, developing and approving SOPs/MOPs, auditing components, managing customer relationships and escalation, delivering performance metrics and reports, participating in hiring, and ensuring 99.999% uptime. Requires extensive experience in data center operations, leadership, budget/P&L accountability, and strong communication and project-management skills. Desirable background in military/defense electrical/mechanical experience (e.g., Navy nukes, generator, power production).
Required Qualifications
- 10-15+ years of data center facility operations and maintenance experience
- 5 years leadership experience in data center facility operations
- Budget / P/L responsibility
- Solid Understanding of Critical Electrical and Mechanical / HVAC equipment
- Experience supervising a technical data center operations staff
- Previous experience as a Data Center Facility Manager a must
- Good presentation skills in leading meetings (both conference and in person)
- Superior analytical, planning and problem resolution skills
- Knowledge of Company Services and operations structure and support operations
- A PLUS - Military / Military Veterans ; Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.
