Job Summary
Data Center Construction Project Manager to serve as Owner's Rep overseeing data-center construction projects (greenfields, brownfields, upgrades, retrofits) in a live data center environment. Responsible for delivering projects on budget and on time, managing contractors and vendors, negotiating contracts, creating and managing schedules, handling change orders and documentation, supporting reporting and RFP processes, delivering value-engineering solutions, maintaining adherence to Company Design Standards, managing project risks and liabilities, and maintaining client relationships. Requires strong organization, back-office administration, independent work capability, and willingness to travel to project sites. Must be proficient with project-management tools and building-system design awareness.
Required Qualifications
- BA / BS a plus
- Experienced managing Data Center Construction Projects as an Owner or as a General Contractor
- Data Center Project experience involving retrofits, upgrades, and capital improvement projects in a live data center environment
- Familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects
- Experience managing budgets
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry
- Belong and Attend professional organizations such as AFCOM, ASHRAE, 7x24 exchange, PTC, Datacenter Dynamics / DCD, Uptime, iMasons, Bisnow etc.
- Client Facing /Client relationship / Client Management skills
- Solid Construction Project Management experience
- Effective Communicator – emails, phone and face to face
- Ability to work independently
- Travel as needed to project sites
- Solid Admin skills
- Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, P6 Oracle Primavera, AutoCAD a plus
- Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus!
