Job Summary
Data Center Construction Project Manager - Owner's Rep in New York, NY. Responsible for delivering data center construction projects on schedule and on budget, acting on behalf of the owner, coordinating contractors and vendors, creating and managing project plans, and ensuring adherence to Company Design Standards. Role emphasizes back-office tasks (change orders, budgeting, paperwork) and leadership across multiple concurrent projects with a strong focus on value engineering, client relationship management, and logs/reports. Requires experience managing live data center upgrades/retrofits, budgeting, scheduling, and proficiency with project-management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, and AutoCAD.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry
- Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as an Owner or as a General Contractor
- Data Center Project experience involving retrofits, upgrades, and capital improvement projects in a live data center environment
- Familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects
- Experience managing budgets
- Solid Construction Project Management experience
- Strong communication with clients and teams
- Travel as needed to project sites
- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, P6 Oracle Primavera, AutoCAD a plus
- Active engagement with professional organizations such as AFCOM, ASHRAE, 7x24, Datacenter Dynamics / DCD, Uptime, iMasons, Bisnow
- Experience with change orders, reporting, and RFP processes
- Ability to work independently
