Job Summary
Lead and support commissioning field efforts for new construction and retrofit data center projects across the US, performing independent design reviews for OPR compliance. Contribute to the development of project commissioning plans and L1-5 procedures while conducting site inspections to verify installation quality and system readiness. Oversee energization, startups, checkout, and integrated systems testing of critical MEP, controls, and cooling systems, then identify, document, and track deficiencies through resolution. Prepare commissioning reports, closeout documentation, and support client training and turnover activities. This role requires onsite presence in Las Vegas, Nevada, with US citizenship and eight years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review
- US Citizenship
- BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Eight years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Tier 3 / Tier 4 data centers
- Four years of commissioning, design, or construction experience in mission-critical environments
- Advanced understanding of data center infrastructure and supporting systems
- Detailed knowledge of ASHRAE Guideline and commissioning processes and documentation requirements
- Advanced understanding of construction drawings, specifications and submittals
- Familiarity with Uptime Institute standards and/or ASHRAE guidelines
- Commissioning industry certification including: CxA, BCxP, or CCP
- Knowledge of redundancy topologies (N, N+1, 2N, 2(N+1))
- Experience troubleshooting controls integration and diagnosing issues related to system sequence of operations
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in high-risk environments
- Excellent communication and coordination across multidisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commissioning software tools
