Job Summary
Lead design and implementation of scalable data platforms on Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, or Snowflake, including end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, and ELT pipelines. Develop and maintain enterprise data models across warehouse and lakehouse layers, alongside semantic layers for reporting. Build and optimize Power BI datasets, dashboards, and semantic models while driving query and performance tuning across SQL workloads and BI layers. Establish data warehousing standards, governance frameworks, and reusable assets to ensure data quality, lineage, and security. Provide technical leadership across engineering and BI workstreams, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, BI, or Analytics
- Strong hands-on expertise in data engineering on at least one platform (mandatory): Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows, Pipelines)
- Strong hands-on expertise in data engineering on at least one platform (mandatory): Azure Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, distributed processing)
- Strong hands-on expertise in data engineering on at least one platform (mandatory): Snowflake (ELT design, performance optimization, data modelling)
- Very strong SQL expertise (mandatory): Complex transformations, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Experience handling large-scale, high-volume datasets
- Deep expertise in Data Modelling (mandatory): Dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schema)
- Deep expertise in Data Modelling (mandatory): Normalization vs denormalization strategies
- Deep expertise in Data Modelling (mandatory): Semantic layer design for analytics
- Strong Data Warehousing experience (mandatory): Designing and implementing enterprise-grade data warehouses
- Strong understanding of Kimball/Inmon methodologies
- Experience with lakehouse architectures
- Strong Power BI experience (mandatory): End to end development expertise
- Strong Power BI experience (mandatory): Building semantic models, reports, and dashboards
- Strong Power BI experience (mandatory): Advanced DAX and Power Query (M)
- Strong Power BI experience (mandatory): Performance tuning (aggregations, incremental refresh, composite models)
- Experience with: Data orchestration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory / Synapse or equivalent)
- Experience with: Python / PySpark for data processing
- Experience with: CI/CD and DevOps practices for data and analytics solutions
- Experience with: Data governance, lineage, and security (including RLS/OLS)
- Remote position availability
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to AI / GenAI / Agentic AI concepts in data and analytics workflows
- Experience with Tableau
