Job Summary

Interpret business use cases and feature requests into technical designs and development tasks. Develop scripts and tests to validate data, handle change requests, and deliver automation solutions that meet agreed timelines and quality standards. Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, exceptions, and client queries within defined service levels, prioritizing tasks based on importance and urgency. Collaborate with stakeholders across functions to optimize workflows, improve data quality, and contribute to broader automation and operational efficiency initiatives. Support onboarding activities, process improvement, and automation projects that reduce manual effort and deliver measurable business value. This role sits within the Ratings Data Center of Excellence at S&P Global Ratings, a global team driving data quality and automation to support the organization's data transformation goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Intermediate SQL knowledge, with demonstrated experience using it to query, validate, and analyze data
  • Demonstrated ability to develop data validation scripts and technical solutions, with experience handling change requests and ensuring outputs meet defined quality standards
  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably Databricks
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve data discrepancies and exceptions within defined timelines and service levels
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across functions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, prioritize effectively, and deliver against agreed timelines
  • Attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office
  • Work from the office a minimum of two days per week

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python or a complementary programming language that supports SQL-based data work
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Familiarity with information systems, business processes, and data-driven decision-making in a financial services environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • A master's degree is highly valued
