Job Summary
Collaborate on enterprise-wide data strategy initiatives and help modernize the current data architecture by designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Support data governance efforts through cataloging, quality frameworks, and lineage documentation while monitoring and optimizing database and data processing performance. Establish and document best practices and standards for data architecture across teams, leveraging advanced SQL Server development skills and familiarity with Microsoft Purview or similar governance tools. This strategic role shapes the firm's evolving data landscape within a leading global financial institution known for innovation and a strong data-driven culture. Experience working with data lakes, warehouses, or marts, Linux environments, and Agile/SAFe practices is essential.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen or Green card holders only
- Proven experience designing relational databases and applying data modeling techniques
- Advanced SQL Server development skills (views, stored procedures, DDL, etc.)
- Experience implementing or supporting data governance platforms (catalogs, lineage tools, etc.)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for data and continuous improvement
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or similar governance tools
- Experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, or data marts
- Comfort working in Linux environments
- Financial services or capital markets experience (especially Fixed Income)
- Knowledge of tools like Jira, Confluence, and Agile/SAFe practices
