Job Summary
The Data Architect will lead the design and modernization of data architecture for economic data platforms, focusing on scalable data platforms, data models, and governance frameworks. Responsibilities include defining the target data architecture, designing scalable storage architectures, improving indexing strategies, and partnering with Application Architects for optimized data access. Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in data architecture, a strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and experience with DataOps and data security best practices. Knowledge in data warehousing, big data technologies, and experience with technical project delivery in complex environments are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering or database design
- Deep understanding of modern data technology stacks and cloud data platforms (AWS preferred)
- Demonstrated experience designing and supporting external/public-facing applications
- Expert knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
- US Citizenship required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with time-series data platforms or analytical datasets
- Experience with distributed query engines and large-scale data processing systems
- Experience with data catalog and metadata management platforms
- Familiarity with economic datasets or research data environments
- Experience supporting public data access or research-oriented platforms
