Job Summary
Data Annotation Specialist responsible for evaluating data science and coding tasks, reviewing and debugging code, analyzing model trajectories, and assessing data visualization script development and logical flows. You will label, proofread, and improve machine-written and human-written software engineering outputs, report quality and performance trends related to model/agent behavior and project assignments, and participate in the Initial Screening, Virtual Annotation Test, Video Screen, and Independent Contractor agreement process. This contract-based, part-time role (minimum 16 hours/week) is remote within Canada (Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver) at a rate of 40 CAD/hour, with a 12-month term and performance incentives. Requires 3+ years of relevant experience, strong Python and data science tooling knowledge, SQL proficiency, and familiarity with code agents; exposure to NSFW content in data annotation tasks is possible.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience working on real-world data science problems and pipelines
- Proficient knowledge of Python and data science packages (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, sqlite, or others)
- Strong SQL syntax skills
- Familiarity with data formats such as markdown, JSON, XML, YAML, HTML
- Experience rewriting, proofreading, and delivering feedback on code
- Familiarity with code agents (OpenCode, Claude Code, Codex) or evaluating agent trajectories is a plus
