Job Summary
Establish data feeds from internal and external sources using APIs and transfer mechanisms, then design and implement efficient pipelines into the data platform. Build appropriate database architectures for staging and storage while managing schemas to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. Develop ETL pipelines to transform and model data for reporting and analytics, and create interactive dashboards to support business self-service. Apply machine learning and analytics techniques to enhance data value, while championing established standards and providing guidance to the wider network of data practitioners.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work with stakeholders to understand different areas of the business and capture their requirements in a structured way
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements to inform a solution design
- Competent in creating high-level design documents and low-level technical designs
- A strong understanding of database architecture and the fundamentals of database management and data modelling
- Good understanding of base structures and the capability of languages such as T-SQL, DAX, M Language, and Python
- Strong experience with the Microsoft stack whether via Azure data services or Microsoft Fabric
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to discuss and simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills in managing personal workload and to take the lead and responsibility for projects
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Oracle databases and Oracle SQL
- Experience developing reports using Power BI
- Experience of using Git to manage version control
- Experience of working to Agile methodology either via Kanban or sprint approaches
