Job Summary
Data & Analytics Product Owner – Finance on the EDIs team who owns the finance-domain product backlog, leads agile delivery of BI, data science, and AI solutions across FP&A, GL, P2P, PSA, CLM, and more, and acts as the day-to-day liaison between Finance & Accounting stakeholders and the analytics development team. Focused on self-service BI adoption, leveraging a new enterprise semantic model; requires strong knowledge of financial processes and ERP systems, experience delivering data products in Agile/Scrum, and ability to translate finance requirements into deliverables. Responsibilities include backlog ownership, sprint planning, defining user stories and acceptance criteria, collaboration with Scrum Master, ensuring data quality and governance, stakeholder engagement, development of dashboards and reports, and championing self-service analytics (Power BI) within Finance & Accounting. Desired background includes Workday Financials familiarity, ERP-analytics governance, and data-literacy initiatives; excellent communication across technical and finance audiences; evidence of data-driven decision making and a collaborative product-team approach.
Required Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience as a Product Owner, business analyst, or related role in data/analytics domains
- Strong understanding of financial processes and transactional systems across one or more finance domains (FP&A, P2P, GL, Revenue)
- Familiarity with ERP platforms and how finance data flows between ERP systems and analytics layers
- Proven track record of delivering data products in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience with modern BI and analytics platforms (Power BI preferred; Tableau, Looker, or similar also valued)
- Understanding of data engineering principles, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex financial concepts into data requirements and vice versa
- Strong experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintaining product backlogs
- Demonstrated ability to make prioritization decisions and manage trade-offs
- Preferred Experience with Workday Financials (HCM, FIN, or PSA modules)
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar agile certification
- SQL proficiency and hands-on experience querying financial datasets
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and financial data standards
- Understanding of SOX-relevant data workflows and financial controls
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling and semantic layer concepts
- Background in finance, accounting, or financial systems consulting
