Data Analyst
$167,000–$167,000 year
RemoteUnited Kingdom or United States
Job Summary
Partner with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Product teams to clarify business goals, build datasets, and deliver actionable analysis that drives decisions. Own the end-to-end analysis lifecycle, from defining metric definitions and caveats to shipping trusted dashboards and dbt models in version-controlled repos. Deepen subscription domain expertise by documenting known gotchas and filters to scale your knowledge across the organization. Leverage AI agent tooling to curate semantic context, verify answers, and push corrections back into LookML and dbt to ensure data accuracy. Translate complex data realities into clear language for non-technical stakeholders while contributing to platform improvements that unblock your work.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years in an analytics role (Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Business Analyst, Analytics Engineer or similar)
- real experience as the direct analytics partner to a business team such as Marketing, Sales or Finance
- Curiosity
- uncomfortable when you don't understand why a number is what it is, and you dig until you do
- ask the question behind the question
- rather learn a new domain than a new tool
- comfortable without fully formed requirements, and you create structure where none exists yet
- care more about being useful and clear than about polished dashboards
- want to be a partner to the business, not a request queue
- Strong SQL and real comfort working directly in a warehouse
- get to an answer without hand-holding
- Experience owning datasets and dashboards that non-technical teams depend on
- Comfortable working in a repo: git, branches, pull requests, code review
- analytics lives in version-controlled dbt and LookML repos
- already work with AI agents daily
- appropriately skeptical of them
- explain how you verified an answer, not just how you produced one
- Clear written communication, especially about limits, caveats, and what a number does not say
Desired Qualifications
- Python
- dbt
- Looker or LookML
- Snowflake or ClickHouse
- Subscription or fintech domain experience
- High-volume data
