Job Summary
Data Analyst (P2/P3/P4) at Purdue University’s Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment office, with fully remote and hybrid options. Responsible for delivering timely and accurate routine/ad hoc reports, dashboards, and analyses; creating curated data sets; performing descriptive, summary, and statistical analyses (e.g., regression, ANOVA); interpreting results for technical and non-technical stakeholders; authoring metadata and supporting documentation; and collaborating with campus data partners to improve data quality and consistency. Roles vary by level, with P3 leading projects and mentoring, and P4 driving strategy and setting analytical standards. The position requires strong data skills, experience with BI tools (Tableau preferred), SQL, Cognos, and statistical packages (SAS, SPSS, Minitab), and a background in data governance and data stewardship. Fully remote and hybrid options are available; Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization. A resume and cover letter are required for full consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree
- Experience with BI tools (Tableau preferred)
- Knowledge of relational databases and reporting tools (SQL and Cognos preferred)
- Experience conducting statistical analysis (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Minitab)
- Strong communication skills, including presenting findings and maintaining documentation
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Experience with data extraction, processing, visualization, and analysis
- Degree in Business, Management, Financial Management, MIS, CIT, Math/Statistics, Behavioral & Social Sciences, or a related field
- Experience supporting higher education data, analytics, or reporting environments
- Experience using generative AI tools to support analytical workflows (e.g., documentation, exploratory analysis, summarization)
