Job Summary
Data Analyst I supporting federal grants administration for early childhood education programs. Combines quantitative statistical analysis (Excel, Python, R) with qualitative review of program documents to drive programmatic improvements and support federal decision-making. Responsibilities include compiling and analyzing data, performing longitudinal PIR analyses, generating crosstabs and analytical tables, identifying data quality issues, supporting congressional reporting, and delivering data-driven presentations. Develop high-quality written reports and executive summaries; translate findings into actionable recommendations for federal staff and program leadership; travel as needed. Requires ability to obtain a Public Trust and on-site work at regional offices with telework available upon approval.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years post-baccalaureate professional experience in data analysis
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to pass background investigations as required for access to federal facilities and systems
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with demonstrated ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Experience in reporting analytical findings to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to work with data layers and data infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to aggregate, analyze, and present data from multiple sources
- Experience with qualitative data analysis methodologies
- Proven ability to manage multiple analytical projects simultaneously
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to translate complex data findings into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based collaboration tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel within and outside the assigned region during contract performance to conduct site visits, attend meetings, conferences, and training
