Job Summary
Data Analyst in Rakuten Ichiba/Data Science Group will collect, process, and perform statistical analyses on large datasets to discover useful information, support decision-making, and evaluate product updates. Responsible for tracking key KPIs, using data extraction and modeling to inform stakeholders, automating routine analytics tasks via dashboards and AI-driven agents, and setting up A/B tests with comprehensive result evaluations. English is the primary language for internal communication, with Japanese language skills valued. Required skills include Python and SQL, data cleaning/preparation, ability to communicate complex insights clearly, and experience leading analytics efforts. The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making, dashboards, data pipelines, and partnering with business units to drive growth and improve customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related)
- Over 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role
- Expert proficiency in Python and SQL
- Proven ability to lead data exploration, analysis, and visualization with actionable insights
- Experience with data cleaning and preparation; familiarity with database management systems; knowledge of data warehousing a plus
