Job Summary
Analyze data for calibration, trends, patterns, and outliers using graphical and statistical methods, while following standard processes for routine data processing and preparation. Identify problems with data and propose solutions, then complete basic maintenance functions such as backup, archive, and restore. Assist in final report preparation and special projects, utilizing new software packages as needed. Perform field inspections, installations, maintenance, and data verifications on flow monitoring systems, including entering sewer manholes and working outside year-round. Communicate effectively with field personnel, technicians, and management. Work an 8-hour shift between 7-5pm with potential overtime and weekends, traveling up to 35% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's license
- Ability to meet the assigned company's regulatory insurance requirements for owned autos determined through Motor Vehicle Record Check (MVR)
- Demonstrate a good understanding of basic hydraulics, especially as related to measurement of flow in sewer systems
- Staring at a computer screen for durations which could exceed 8 hours in a day
- Repetitive typing on a laptop or desktop computer
- Meeting safety device manufacturer's maximum rated load capacity of no greater than 310lbs
- Standing and walking for durations which could exceed 8 hours in a day
- Using hands and fingers to control, handle and feel objects
- Seeing details of objects from a distance
- Working outside year-round in all conditions present
- Entering sewer manholes
- Climbing stairs and walking on uneven terrain
- Squatting and crawling
- Lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds when necessary
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to interpret and manipulate complex computer software programs
- Competency with standard corporate software for word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and graphic processing
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit number and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using unity of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of mathematics and basic statistics
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- BA/BS in a field related to either the environment or civil engineering is preferred; equivalent work experience is also acceptable
- Preferred experience in data and statistical analysis
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with databases or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is desirable
