Job Summary
Design and maintain scalable backend services, data pipelines, and integrations powering DoorDash's accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting workflows. Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to translate complex regulatory requirements into reliable, auditable, and automated systems. Shape team architecture and engineering best practices while mentoring junior engineers and driving improvements in data accuracy and pipeline reliability. This London-based role on a Deliveroo contract requires 5+ years of software or data engineering experience, deep expertise in distributed systems and tools like Snowflake or dbt, and familiarity with SOX controls or NetSuite.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering
- strong track record of owning and delivering complex backend or data infrastructure projects
- deep expertise in distributed systems and data engineering
- hands-on experience in tools like Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, or similar modern data stack technologies
- ability to navigate the intersection of engineering and finance
- understanding of concepts like revenue recognition, reconciliation, and auditability
- collaborative, low-ego approach
- ability to effectively partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, and Engineering
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with SOX controls, data quality frameworks, or financial systems (e.g., NetSuite)
