Job Summary
Gather, interpret, QC, and enter energy industry data into the GIS database system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for your assigned region. Assist regional experts in sourcing current, planned, and historic activity covering oil and gas licensing, seismic, drilling, field development, production, and renewables. Process and standardize information to populate the Global Intelligence product suite, producing technical outputs like regional activity maps to weekly and monthly deadlines. Support product promotion by interfacing with clients and the industry, with opportunities for international travel. This role requires a self-starter with an inquisitive mind, preferably holding a degree in earth science and up to two years of relevant experience. The position operates in a hybrid model with a minimum of two days per week at the Stonehouse office.
Required Qualifications
- Max. 2 years of relevant work experience
- Degree-level education
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Good IT skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Competency in a Windows environment
- Some experience with GIS software
- Understanding of relational databases and data tables
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Well-organized mindset
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Minimum of 2 days per week at the Stonehouse office
Desired Qualifications
- Preferably in an earth science discipline
- Hands-on experience with a GIS platform such as MapInfo, ArcGIS, or QGIS
- Foreign language skills
- Experience with AI tools such as Claude for research, data processing, or writing workflows
